Tomb Raider: Legacy Of Atlantis New Dev Diary Explores Combat
Check out the sixth installment in the Dev diary documentary series behind the upcoming remake.
Amazon Game Studios and Crystal Dynamics released the sixth video in the series which explores the combat, crafting, and skill tree progression for the upcoming game. Check it out:
First off, the video opens with an absolutely beautiful visual and it instantly captured my attention. But more importantly the video explores the new added depth the game is going to have to celebrate all aspects of the series. We get to learn more about the Focus system, the iconic dual pistols (among other weapons), and different playstyles the weapons will present.
“One of our main gameplay changes to Legacy of Atlantis we’re introducing is a system called Focus,” states Raul Siqueira, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis Game Director. “When you’re doing actions in combat, taking damage, dealing damage, dodging attacks, you’re building your Focus meter. Focus allows you to slow down time around you and showcase some of the things that Lara used to do in ‘96. The acrobatic component is really important for the character, so we wanted to make sure there was a way on the sticks for that to be celebrated.”
We don’t get much about the skill tree, and crafting, but it’s the first video to at least show a glimpse of both aspects.
The game will release February 12th, 2027, after a short delay out of it’s Fall release window.
