100 Thieves withdraw from Austin LAN after qualifying to the Major
Shortly after qualifying to the PGL Major Singapore 2026, 100 Thieves have dropped out of Austin LAN, Dust2.us has confirmed. The Los Angeles-based organization was set to attend the NA LAN on November 13th, with the Chicagoland LAN set to serve as the latest open LAN on 100T's calendar.
The decision to withdraw from Austin LAN is unsurprising for 100 Thieves ahead of the organization's first Major as Austin LAN is set to end nine days before the team's first matches in Singapore.
Regarding the team's decision to withdraw from Austin LAN, 100 Thieves' Head of CS Operations Graham "messioso" Pitt told Dust2.us:
We signed up to multiple events to secure slots in case we didn't qualify for the Singapore major, including Austin LAN and ROG Journey Winter, so we could continue to keep our rank up towards the end of the year to secure invites going into 2027. Now that we've qualified for the Singapore major, our priority during that period will shift towards a bootcamp and practice rather than additional events.
Unfortunately these decisions had to be made ahead of qualification and we regret disappointing our fans and the tournament organisers who were excited about our attendance.
The withdrawal of 100 Thieves last night comes at an unfortunate time for Austin LAN as it is too late to open sign-ups and search for a replacement team. Additionally, 100 Thieves would brought additional prestige and eyes to the NA LAN, with Major winners Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz, HÃ¥vard "rain" Nygaard, and Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander undoubtedly being a huge draw.
Looking at the big picture, 100 Thieves' withdrawal from the event leaves Ludens Gecko (ex-SportsBetExpert) as the highest-ranked team in the event and thus the favorites to top the $30,000 event.
With 100 Thieves out of the event, notable teams set to attend Austin LAN include:
